Our Trainers:
Eric Stratman, "S-Dub"

Owner, CEO, and head trainer of The Next Level Training Center, Eric uses his extensive knowledge of both fitness and nutrition as well as the fitness industry to wage war against the rising statistics of those who are sedentary and overweight. He operates TNL under the premise that we provide the best plan of attack for reaching goals and changing lives. He was only a boy of 16 when Nike blasted the airways with their now iconic slogan, “Just do it!” No sweeter, or sweatier words, could have been said to this ambitious athlete. Two short years later, at 18, Eric Stratman was a certified personal trainer who to this day still possesses the same determination. Eric is not a person who takes a catchy phrase and uses it as a daily platitude. No, he clearly takes the attitude from the most inspirational brand statements of all time and applies it to his daily life, both at work and at home. From early on, folks recognized Eric’s innate ability to teach, guide and motivate others. This aligned perfectly with his goal of helping others attain physical fitness. Now going on twenty years, Eric has used his vast knowledge in the fitness field to help many attain their personal health goals. With his pleasant communication and effective motivational skills, Eric makes the road to fitness less bumpy and a little shorter.
Eric has trained professional athletes (NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA), bodybuilders, rehab patients and seniors, children and soccer moms on performance enhancement, rehabilitation and strengthening. He holds personal trainer certifications through ISSA, NASM, NFPT, ACE, AFFA and USA Weightlifting. He is also a certified instructor in CrossFit, CrossFit Gymnastics, Kettlebell, Endurance Training, Agility & Balance Training, Athletic Development, and Nutrition. Each year, he puts in countless hours of fitness training, plus at least 100-hours in continuing education. As a freelance writer for Authority Magazine and the Tampa Bay Guide he helps thousands to get on the right road to fitness.
He has received several recognitions in his field; voted in 2008 and 2009, "Top Trainers" in Tampa Bay, and five consecutive years (1997-2001) as Manager/Trainer of the Year at Bally Total Fitness, where he oversaw a team of 150 trainers.
The Next Level Training Center was another goal that Eric set out to accomplish. He opened this unique gym in 2009 in Tampa, FL, training pro athletes and the beginner workout enthusiast in all the basic and complex components of fitness and nutrition. The military took advantage of Eric’s expertise and contracted him to provide training to all military branches at Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa.
He is a dedicated father, and husband, known for bringing his young son into the gym for a few workout sessions. His wife is also a personal trainer. It’s all in the family.

Greg White, "Great White"

Greg started personal training because he loved helping people be better at their lives. He found early on that with his help, people could achieve and maintain a higher quality of life and he was ecstatic to have that ability. The best step in Greg's personal training career came when he was introduced to CrossFit. His personal goals had started to plateau as did some of his tenured clients. CrossFit helped his programming smash through those plateaus. It took Greg's understanding of exercise science to another level andwas able to understand how to progress anyone no matter what level of fitness they currently possessed. Greg has helped power lifters add 70+ pounds to their bench as well as a 85 year old woman stay strong and mobile. He has had several clients lose over 100 lbs and the cool thing is, they’ve kept it off.
Greg attained a specialty certification in Corrective Exercise in 2007. Correctional Exercise Specialists are able to understand the individual function of a specific joint and how it functions in integrated exercise. He wanted to be able to help people who were post-rehabilitation continue to get stronger.
Goals are necessary in fitness and are extremely important to Greg not only as a competitive CrossFit athlete, but also as a trainer. If anyone is going to continuously improve, a “what for” has to be implemented into the program. Those “what for” goals drive the intensity and the results. It is Greg's passion to help everyone desire more from themselves and live a purpose driven life.
John Craighill
John recently moved to the Tampa Bay area from Washington D.C. He has been involved in high level athletics for many years. After playing Division I soccer at the United States Naval Academy, John was always searching for ways to maintain his fitness and health. He has tried every style of fitness training style from long-distance running to "Globo-Gym" style weightlifting and always found himself bored and unhappy with his progress. It wasn’t until 2007, while deployed overseas, that he was introduced to Crossfit. Even then, John was still hesitant to fully commit to the strange cult that is Crossfit. Finally, in 2009, under the encouragement of his sister, he decided to join a Crossfit Gym, and hasn't looked back since. He truly enjoys the sense of community, healthy competition, and functional fitness that Crossfit has provided in his life and he's excited to share his knowledge and experiences with anyone willing to accept the challenge.
John is currently a Lieutenant in the United States Navy attached to United States Central Command. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2003 and was designated a Naval Aviator in 2005. He has deployed multiple times overseas as a Helicopter Pilot flying the SH-60B.
Kim Evers-Creighton, "Kim"
There were three milestones in Kim's life that lead her to Crossfit. The first was when she had to do the President’s Physical Fitness Test in elementary school. She accomplished that, did well, and the sick part is that she loved the soreness in her abs after finishing all those sit ups - and still does. The second milestone was when she was at a rec. center during her sophomore year of high school and the director introduced her to the deadlift. She was hooked. From that point on, Kim spent as much time as she could in the gym. In her early twenties, Kim managed a Gold’s Gym (where she also met her husband, Bob) and was a personal trainer while working her way up through powerlifting competitions. Kim made her way to the elite level and by age 25, she had made it to “Nationals” in the 132 lb. weight class; it was a great experience for her.
Kim took a short break and had 2 boys (now ages 21 and 19) of whom I am exceptionally proud. Yes, she's that old, but she didn’t stay away from the gym for long.
Fast forward about 18 years and this is when a friend introduced her to CrossFit. Her friend couldn't really explain it, but just knew that she would love it. She was right. Kim loved it so much that she decided to become a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor. At age 47, Kim is in the best shape she's ever been.
One of the greatest thrills Kim has is seeing all the GREAT people at TNL do their best every day. These people inspire her to do my best along with them. When Kim is not at TNL she likes to hang out with her family, work in her garden or do some interior and exterior painting with another mom.

Francine Dersch, "Fran"

Fran has worked out since she was in high school. When she was 15, she realized that she could change and control her body's, weight, size and shape simply by exercising. She was fascinated with the effects that exercise and nutrition had on the human body and began to take it very seriously. In 2008, her girlfriend introduced her to Crossfit - she was a Clearwater fire fighter and is by far the strongest girl Fran has ever met. They would do Crossfit style training at her fire station and she was invited to come try it out. Fran was immediately humbled by the hardest work she had ever done and was immediately hooked.
At that time, Fran was working for a company who provided Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, weight loss, nutrition, and exercise programming for clients. She was with that company for 5 years and was unfortunately laid off. That's when she decided to get Crossfit Certified and begin working as a trainer. She has been training at TNL since June of 2010 and it has been a fun learning experience for her. She has since earned certifications such as Crossfit Endurance, International Sports Fitness Training Association (ISFTA), and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sport Performance.
Outside of TNL, her hobbies include activities such as mono-hull sailboat racing and crew, base jumping, free diving and knitting.
